Astrophysics Student Noah Hinds Wins ANU Tuckwell Scholarship

The 25 students selected for the ANU Tuckwell scholarship

Earlier this month, the Australian National University released the list of students who will be receiving the prestigious Tuckwell scholarship. We are proud to announce that among their ranks is TSAA student Noah Hinds.

The Tuckwell scholarship is the most prestigious scholarship awarded by ANU. It is awarded not only for academic excellence, but also for community engagement and leadership qualities. Noah is one of a group of twenty-five students hailing from all across the nation who have been honoured with this award. ANU Vice Chancellor and Nobel Prize winning physicist Brian Schmidt said of the Tuckwell recipients: “Our existing Tuckwell scholars are some of our most active students in terms of community and extracurricular activities, it's easy to see these young people going on to making a big impact on Australia's future.”

Noah has been studying with TSAA since he enrolled in Senior Astronomy in 2015. Since then, he has gone on to achieve exceptional marks in both Senior Astronomy and Senior Astrophysics, attend the annual Astronomy Conference in Brisbane, participate in the University of Queensland Young Scholars program and attend the National Youth Science Forum. He was also selected for work experience at the ANU Research School of Astronomy and Astrophysics, Mt Stromlo Observatory. Noah is also aiming for a Duke of Edinburgh Academic Award in Astronomy and Astrophysics.

We’re immensely pleased to see Noah’s achievements; we congratulate him on his scholarship, and wish him well in his future studies.
